Sitting Tight: The price of the bench-mark, continuous 10-yr futures contract is relatively stable (rates stable). Prices (rates) have found a comfort zone within its gradually ascending (prices higher, rates lower) range. Many investors currently believe prices may climb (rates may fall) in the short-term.

Wholesale inventories rose a stronger-than-expected 0.8% as sales shot 2.7% higher. The result is an inventory to sales ratio back down at the record low 1.07 months seen in November and implies continued strong inventory growth over the coming months despite the weak economy.
