The bench-mark 10-Yr. Note price is slightly higher (rates slightly lower) this morning. Technical trading may bring the price down (rates up) slightly, but no economic reports will be released today which could strongly affect Treasuries. With the lack of economic reports, bond investors will be looking at the stock market primarily for negative economic news. Markets are anticipating some pretty poor bank earnings associated with the subprime debacle. Bad news affecting stocks tends to drive investors to Treasuries, increasing Treasury prices and lowering yields (rates.)
