What Are Refinance Rates?

Refinance rates are the rates that lenders offer to refinance your existing mortgage. Borrowers normally choose either a rate and term refinance or a cash out refinance. 1. Interest rates have dropped: If interest rates have fallen since you took out your original mortgage, refinancing to a lower rate can reduce your monthly payments and overall interest costs.
2. Refinancing your home to get cash, also known as a cash-out refinance, can be a viable option if you need to access your home's equity for a specific purpose, such as paying off high-interest debt, making home improvements, or paying for college expenses.

CalHFA (California Housing Finance Agency)

CalHFA offers various loan programs to assist homebuyers in California. These programs include first mortgage loans insured through private mortgage insurance on the conventional market with fixed interest rates for 30-year terms.
