(01/14/2011) New
regulations in place to limit debit card interchange fees may cause banks to
lose a significant portion of the $16 billion they made from debit card
transactions last year (Source: www.STLtoday.com).
As a result of these new regulations, banks are expected to make a number of
changes which could include implementing new fees and limiting debit card
rewards programs.
Because
of these changes, some consumers may find that using their debit card may have
lost some of its appeal. If this is the case, some consumers may find credit
cards are a welcomed option. These customers may opt for a credit card with few
or no fees. By paying your balances in full, you can guarantee you don’t pay a
single cent in interest.
To
find the best credit card, consumers should check out the online
rate tables on ERATE.com. These rate tables sorts the cards by various features such as
lowest APR, best rewards, and no annuafees. In addition to these predetermined
categories, the category headers can sort the data on the tl able at any time.
This way, you can sort your results by whichever feature you are interested in.
Best of all, these tables are free to use and require absolutely no personal
information.
